Spring 2020 Whale Watch Week Update (3/16/2020): No volunteers will be stationed for the spring Whale Watch Week, set March 21-29, to help slow the spread of COVID-19. All state parks will close March 23, and you can join the Whale Watch online.
It’s Whale Watch Week along the Oregon Coast! In spring approximately 20,000 gray whales travel north to the cold waters of Alaska. Late March through June is the peak of the spring whale migration past Oregon. Spot Gray whales and partake in whale watch counts along the Oregon Coast. Talk to knowledgeable volunteers at the Sea Lion Caves Turnout, Cook’s Chasm Turnout and Cape Perpetua all week long from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Whales are an awesome sight to behold.
Spring Whale Watch Week is part of the “Whale Watching Spoken Here” by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department.
